Prelude
1997
A blossoming young musician sits in quiet anticipation of her approaching performance. Tentative but talented, her music is waiting to be released. Oliver Wendell Holmes said: “Many people die with their music still in them. Why is this so? Too often it is because they are always getting ready to live. Before they know it, time runs out.” Beware of spending your days stringing and unstringing your instrument, while the song you came to sing remains unsung. Everyone has “music” waiting to be released, and this young harpist is a reminder of that. So go on, let the performance begin!
